The Moose: Forged in Fire, Gilded in Gold
 
This fella was created using Raku firing, an intensive pottery technique where I removed the scorching bisqued-clay from a kiln at 1800°F and immediately placed it in a chamber filled with combustible materials like sawdust and newsprint. The flames and smoke created those beautiful crackled surfaces and unique colouring.
 
When it comes to Raku, each piece is unpredictable; embracing what Bob Ross would call "happy accidents"! The extra time, technical skill, and one-of-a-kind results make this piece truly special. And see those brilliant gold antlers and spots? That's 22-karat gold lustre, hand-painted and fired again. He's a fancy boy!
