The Resilient Polar Bear
Sculpted by hand and fired using the raku technique, the clay has been through a dramatic process of intense heat, flame, and rapid cooling, resulting in subtle variations in texture and tone. This special polar bear is a warrior. After an unfortunate decapitation, the polar bear’s head was lovingly repaired using the Japanese art of kintsugi. Rather than hiding the break, this technique celebrates it. The philosophy of kintsugi embraces life's fragility and change, teaching that brokenness or imperfection doesn't diminish worth but can create greater strength and beauty. THIS bear wears its golden seam like a badge of honour. As they say: what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
A symbol of independence and perseverance, this ceramic polar bear makes a meaningful gift for anyone who keeps going... even when things fall apart.
